Tonight we went to the Temple, while we were there we saw some old friends. Steve and Kathy Palmer. Steve was the Stake President in the very first stake, where we bought our first home.
Many years ago I offended Kathy, I have worried about it for 30 years, and tonight she welcomed me and gave me a big hug. All was forgotten, I hope she has forgiven me for foolishness of youth. It was a sweet blessing from the Lord for me.
Steve and Kathy served a mission about the same time we did, they were called to Africa, as we were sharing mission experiences we found that we had a lot of the same experiences, it was wonderful to catch up for a few minutes with them. We found we both miss the mission field so much, the people, the work, the spirit. It was good to know that we are not alone in the love we have for being missionaries.
When they got home, they found out that Steve has lung cancer, he is undergoing treatments now, and is hopeful of remission. Our prayers and thoughts are with them.
